First Meeting!

Posted on Sep 30th, 2008 by Deisy : Respect is key Deisy
Vivisection2
The first meeting went super well! I was so excited! it was a total success... now we just need to get down to recycling around campus.

We have a new website! it's www.myspace.com/environmentalclub09 Ruby made it :) Thanks Rubina.

I just finished my AP Envi Science hw and am hoping for a good end of the week. I'm getting tested on the third number (song) in band on Thursday by Jessiquita and well I know how to play it..I just have to memorize it.

The band's website is www.freewebscom/gghsmusic and I can download the songs to practice at home! So that's super nice....

I also have a test on AP Econ on Friday! And back to civics for two weeks again, wow time is BUZZING BY! I'm taking my SAT's in a few days..*on Saturday* so Friday will be spent studying all day to do fairly well, though I'm submitting my ACT's.

Today the counselors stopped by econ and well scared me to death. I'm so scared! I know I won't get into any of the girl schools but I'm JUST trying c'mon...I will be happy if I get to go to Humboldt or UC Santa Cruz since they totally fit my personality and can't wait to see what the future holds for me. Maybe I was meant to go to a co-ed school! Maybe men aren't scary savages after all lol...heh

Other than that...

I really don't know at this point if I will be able to go to the concert since I have no one to go with. I need friends that can do things that I can and have the same interests ASAP! I really need them, I'm hiring!!!! w/o pay...

I'm babysitting right now and I'm SOOO sleepy, my eyes are closing..I'm thinking of lying in bed next to the girls and just zzzzz until Angie comes home...

I just need one more page of hw but it's due on Friday anyway...I'm just a non procrastinator.

For some reason I haven't been hungry at all. I ate today some black beans with tortillas for breakfast and then Dawn gave me some of that glorious Viet bread her gma does for her and well I didn't eat for another like six hours until I felt like I had to eat or else my mom would notice and yell at me. I was planning to just not eat the rest of the day and in fact haven't eaten since that bread with vegan cream cheese...crap...I really am not hungry. I did eat some small grapes at Angie's house though but that's it..and some water.

Also! I am going paintballing with Sarah and Maneja! I'm going with the local mosque's youth group so it's going to be fun!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm excited!!! I wish I could go to the Rancho Cucamonga's Greek festival but :( I can't! It's wayyy to far away...hopefully some day. Global Village Festival that day for now!

AMSC meeting on Thursday, Girl's League tomorrow...Friday member meeting for Envi Club.

I looked hot today :D

Happy Anniversary *coming soon!*

Posted on Oct 8th, 2008 by Deisy : Respect is key Deisy
Giora and Deisy's Anniversary

OMG!! Giora's gift is done! a zillion thanks to our wonderful vegan witch from www.darkfaeriecreations.com that made this wonderful work of art with so much effort! I love it and I'm sure Giora will too. *He is banned from my blog until our anniversary in October 24th so he doesn't see his gift!*

I am sooo happy!

Okay, I will explain some things in the drawing. The necklace I'm wearing is the locket Giora gave to me for the holidays of 2007! It has our pictures inside and one empty space reserved for a picture of us in the future :)

The dog and the cat in the background are our dear companion animals. The puppy is Snowball, and the cat is Snowball lol. Yes..super coincidence. It is very meaningful to me because it was one of the 'weird' and 'odd' things that we found out we had in common when we started talking, both our pets had the same name! Apart from his uncle living ten minutes away from me, basically down the street, even though he lived halfway around the world in Israel and I had met him through a vegan forum!

October 24th is our anniversary! :)

Here's a picture of us so you can see the resemblance! haha

Take off my glasses with your imagination! :)

Can you see our purple eyes?! they're exactly alike! ;D (I'm also wearing the locket in this picture :D)

You would swear...

Since Thursday I've been having SERIOUS problems with pain in my throat and ears and closing of my breathing tube! I've had problems with my throat and ears since months ago and I went to the doc but he said that he couldn't see anything so I just dismissed it and focused on something else.

I felt very good yesterday after Thursday crying so hard because of the pain and my poor mother giving me a bunch of home medicines lol (not so funny at the time).

I just woke up right now, it's 5:52am and I couldn't sleep because I can't breath! I went to sleep at midnight after talking to Giora for about an hour or so since the poor bunz was sleeping for about twelve hours after not sleeping for days. The army is really wearing him out :(

I'm trying to call Giora right now because I'm kinda bored and there's nothing on tv and it's too early to do my personal statement lol but he isn't answering so I'm guessing he's either doing something or sleeping in his tent, *it's shabbat so they get it off*

shabbat shalom to everyone btw!

I feel like writing a love letter...

looks at Giora's picture which he hid from me for months because he thought it was bad looking!

G Picnic

he's blind! lol look at his manly beard haha...I think after the army he's going to shave it off :P

k, toodles!

Dawn and I went to the Korean festival right after going to the band competition yesterday and listened to Korean singers, tried new food *very spicy!* and just had fun overall.

After everything we went to a Vietnamese restaurant and she ate Pho while I talked lol...

Yesterday was good...

Today is the PERSIAN FESTIVAL! Most likely Dawn and I Will be attending so I'll bring back pictures :)

I took a bunch of pix from the Korean fest but unfortunately they were bad lol and it was dark which is worse!

Off to do homework :) I'm done with my AP Civics reading anyway and just need to read four chapters of Their Eyes Were Watching God, do Ch. 9 for AP Envi Science and start my project for Temperate Deciduous Forests as well :D

Have a good Sunday! I'm still in pain and can hardly breath but hell! Lets be happy anyway =D

Sickness

Bizarro's Dan Piraro on Vegan Issues

So, it's the sick season! and I was not spared.. lol I'm home...eating some parsimmon while waiting for my mom to make me real breakfast and then I'll finish all the homework that is due on Friday just to be ahead and not waste time since it's not like when I have a migraine that I can do NOTHING except lay down..I'm just limp and really weak, can barely walk and coughing every two seconds and my nose is super runny and chapped lol...

Other than that for the past few days its just been doing homework and the clubs...

I have a project on Temperate Deciduous Rainforests due on Friday for AP Environmental Science and a unit test for AP Civics so I'm taking turns doing the work and Im halfway done :)

Other than that...we're learning our fourth formation and song in band, still have to practice.

I'm talking to bunnzly soon! He's going to talk to me after guarding :D I'm so bad though! I should tell him to go to sleep because he barely gets ANY sleep and he works all day in his little troop place....

Also! I sent him our anniversary card yesterday so hopefully it will arrive in time even though his package won't :( it's okay, I'm really hoping for the artwork to come TODAY!!!

He finishes advanced training in TWO WEEKS! he's going to the northern Israeli border after that! gah! I don't know why I'm so worried :(

I'm getting the package that HE sent me very soon though! It's going to be hard not to open it before our anniversary so I will store it far away... lol

His mom sent me a Rosh Hashana package with all the best Israeli junk food just a few weeks ago and omg I was left wanting more!!! (I am going to get soo fat when I go to Israel next year eating all the Bissli!) I can't wait until I get grandma Haya's (his grandma) card!

Have a nice rest of the week and don't get sick :)

toodles!

P.S. I hope you enjoyed Dan Piraro! I love love love his artwork and he's probably the most famous artist in the vegan world. I bought his poster for my sister about a year ago from the farmsanctuarykidzclub.com and she loved it! :D

Wow I can't believe it's Succot already!! Soon enough Chanukah will be here! :D

Payback is Not a Bitch

Posted on Oct 17th, 2008 by Deisy : Respect is key Deisy

This, people,...is FREAKING FUNNY!!!!

You know why? because it goes along with today's story...

So today I was happily walking along from the main office of my high school to my club advisor's room to get a bin for them and passed through the hall with the notorious annoying Mexican guys that whistle at girls that pass by and throw carrots and girl's asses. ...do you know where it's going...? lol...

So I accidentally bumped into one of them and quickly apologized since I was in a rush and kept going and when I was far enough away I heard..BITCH! from the little circle

...can you imagine what happened next?

So when I heard that I encountered the other half of their friends and they were saying how their friend likes me blah blah the typical everyday harrassment women get from men so I was like yah that's great!! :D you know..to confuse them, they're used to girls ignoring them so when you actually respond with something nice or pay attention they're like WHAAAAT. Okay so I kept going and halfway there I was like WAIT, DID THEY CALL ME A BITCH?! AFTER ACCIDENTALLY BUMPING INTO THEM AND SAYING SORRY?!! ohh my fucken lawd...I was pissed off..ANGRYYYYY raging with madness, and I quickly went back and this is what happened:

Me: WHO CALLED ME A BITCH?!
Them: Wut?!?!! no no wut?! u trippin' man! u trippin'! we didn't call u a bitch no no we didn't!
Me: Oh really ?!! Because If you did I'm calling the vice-principal to come over right now!!
Them: NO WE DIDN'T WE DIDN'T CALL YOU NO BITCH!!
Me: Okay, alright....(with that look of I'm an asshole and I will FUCKEN KILL YOU!)

And when walking by the guy that was harrassing me last time kept saying, HEY HEY MY FRIEND LIKES YOU HE'S OVER HEREEEEE COME BACK!!!

And I gave them a look of FUCK OFF!

and I went home to eat lunch quickly and came back and Mr. Ono, the only male authority in the school *hell yeah! girl power!* was there and I asked the secretaries if I could talk to him and they asked why and I told them that about the guys that hang out by the hall blah blah and they were like

YEAAHH WE'RE PROUD OF YOU!!! YEAHH!!!

apparently no girls have the underwear to complain...Idiots!

Anyway I stepped into Ono's office and I quickly started telling the story with great preciseness! and I said I AM VERY ANGRY MR. ONO! and he said..

Would you like to punch me?

LOOOL I laughed..comic relief...but I declined the kind offer....

Anyway, he's taking care of it immediately on Monday, going over to talk to them and kicking them off the hall those idiot whores.

He quickly congratulated me for telling the office immediately and he told me that if anything else happened to come over right away and it would be ten times worse since harrassment is a 0 tolerance thing in our district *my school is REALLY 0 tolerance with anything, so it's fucken great*

I will personally walk there on Tuesday and if they say something again guess what? I CAN PRESS CHARGES!! ahhh and I will, because revenge is FUCKEN SWEEEET!

and HA! That teaches men, you don't say something to without getting something back assholes!

They thought they would get away with another girl, another day, but no, they got screwed over with this one

...reminds me of the time the substitute teacher offended me by making fun of my veganism and I went into the office with tears streaming down my face and ooohhh they yelled at him sooo good that I heard that he even declined to talk about anything that had to do with it later... He was an asshole about it though, I can't believe he made me cry!!! But NOBODY will get away with making me feel uncomfortable, ever.

I've heard a lot of people complain about them too, and nobody had ever said anything I cannot believe that... anyway, payback is NOT a bitch! HAR HAR DO YOU GET IT?!! HAR HAR...

I may be a bitch, just don't call me one..specially to my face!!! :D

ahhh, today we have the homecoming game and well we're very happy. Tomorrow I have community service for environmental club and we're picking trash up at the beach :D

I'm sleepy...and need to take a showa...I talked to bunny though!! I was sooo happy and he was sooo happy as well! He's going camping with his sister Pnina and his little brother Guy tomorrow! I expect pictures :)

Yay! I have bbsitting tomorrow!

bahhh craziness! I also need to do my college essay! I'M SO BAD! I'm so scared that I haven't even started and I'm doing Early Decision!!

I'm doomed :(

okay..going to take a shower!!

Be Scared...

Posted on Oct 19th, 2008 by Deisy : Respect is key Deisy
Be Scared...

Today was an average Sunday except for the fact that I submitted two college applications and decided that I will never again watch 60 minutes.

Andy Rooney is a fucken asshole.

Other than that, I went over to Dawn's house and finished some AP Envi hw while she read..and we talked a bunch, specially about how stupid anti choicers are...how they deserve to be hit by a train....yes yes I know how people will say, "well Deisy don't lower yourself to their idiot position" well guess what! I'm not a pacifist by any means! I absolutely abhor them even though I don't give them the time of day to actually abhor them to the point of getting frustrated by them...

Women have abortions anyway xD

I was wondering how many people out there really but sincerely hate their parents. I'm talking about the real 'never-coming-back-home-after-I-leave' kind of thing, but not just in a chaos of madness but seriously seriously never coming home.

I remember the first time that I started hating my parents..I was about 4 or 5 and I hold grudges..FOREVER. I never forgive and never forget. I never think about them though so I don't harm myself in any way, I just don't ever talk to the people I have grudges against but in the case of my parents I have to because duh I kinda need rides and money....unfortunately...

The way I make it is so they know that I hate them and they know that for me to show any kind of temporary affection they have to treat me really nicely and do whatever I want, so when they really feel like they need my love they will do anything. Bad ey? Well you don't know my parents so shut up and find out first...

They're like McCain, except Catholic and colored...and ten times worse.

Bad enough for you? yes..yes it is, specially when you're an Atheist, vegan, feminist licentious teenager that's getting two tats in a few months *YEAAAHHHH!!*

Anyway, I decided that my family is SO bad..I mean ...SOOO bad that I don't ever ever ever want to see them again *I'm talking about cousins and non immediate family, geez, I could never get my immediate family off my back..even if I lit their butts on fire like a tick* They're (I'M SO LUCKY) all in Guatemala and in the East coast though so it's really easy to accomplish and hopefully I will have the happiest life anybody has after I never have to communicate with them. (I actually am pretty okay with the EC ones, except for some, the Guatemala ones though are evil bastards).

Lets see what else I have in my mind other than family....

Oh yes...rape, rape is horrible...the only think I love about Alabama is that they have the death penalty for rapists that rape children under 12. The reason I hate that is because THEY SHOULD MAKE IT FOR ALLLLLL RAPISTS!

WHAT SUDDENLY AN OLDER PERSON ISN'T TRAUMATIZED BECAUSE THEY'RE NOT A FUCKEN KID?! outrageous...

They should have the death penalty for molesters AND rapists. Everywhere...just kill them all. There is so many that our population problem would seriously be gone. We would have 5% left of the male population though with 0% of clergymen.

I want to make a program in Guatemala that will teach young boys that harrassing women is bad, that you never do things like that and of course go into much more detail because that is exactly what we need. Women don't talk to young boys and more than half of them harrass a woman at least once in their lives.

There was not one female friend of mine that I knew that didn't get molested or raped in my town, that's how bad sexual assault is in Guatemala. I think worldwide but in Guatemala it's so common that women are starting to think it's a normal thing men do....

It makes me SO ANGRY!

The worst thing is that nobody says anything! NOBODY that I knew had said anything until years later...I'm talking about 8-10 years later, usually because it happened before they were 5 years old, or sometimes it happened very many times but it always started before they were 5.

Sexual assault is just one of those things that just make me want to die. What could possibly drive anyone to harm somebody else in that way? ...

The even more unbelievable thought though is when a woman does that to a little boy or a little girl. It's not NEARLY as common as perverted men of course the quantity is like .000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000 etc 1 % of women compared to like 99% of guys.

But when it does happen I just can't even imagine! It's usually because they have been abused as well before or they're insane. But I really can't imagine a woman doing any kind of sexual harm to a little kid! I guess because women are just better.

Life...such horrible thing. What kind of irresponsible bastard brings more people here? Oh I forgot, ALMOST EVERYONE!

www.vday.org and do something, at least learn more.

toodles!

Have you ever been in a situation where you have absolutely nothing to talk about?

Me either so next subject...

I.............am nervous and excited for my new life to come. I'm dropping everything that I ever knew and moving onto something that I have never seen or even imagined before because I'm sure it's nothing like I imagined it. Meeting new people and just starting a new life from scratch!

The closest college I'm applying to is 14 hours away from my home so I'm not expecting to be able to come running back if I feel homesick, which let me tell you will not happen!

Anyway, I've been wanting Southwestern Asian rice for a while now so soon enough I'm going to the Al Mecca & Madinah store by some boulevard and buying it and also a bunch of garbanzo beans to be able to do that fantastic Indian dish I ate a while ago...

Their Eyes Were Watching God by Zora Neale Hurston is amazing, one of my new favorite books and I don't even like fiction..this is realistic fiction though so it's not like filled with stupid vampires or crap like that.

I have to work really hard to actually go to sleep at 9pm...I want to hit the hay at 6pm actually and I am sooo sleepy and tired.... I think its my birth control pills, and if not then I'm just slowly dying. Who cares though! We're overpopulated anyway lol

I have to memorize a complete math table and I'm thankful for shit like that because I have the best brain for memorizing things. I have a marble memory though so it's not for long, but for a test I never get below an A if its about memorizing crap... If it's about actually learning steps then I'm screwed, or if it's about ACTUALLY learning something looool.

Band practice went okayz today..I don't want to learn my last song though, it's just ..so...ehh..I will do it though...because I can't give up now.

I found a pomegranate today in the kitchen and I cut it in half..some of it was rotten but I digged through the sides to eat the remaining seeds that were okay...not worth the trouble.

Nothing is worth the trouble....and what seems like it does ends up screwing you over eventually.

I believe that all people have asked or made the position their in at the moment, including myself.

going to sleep..can't make it until 9pm and I'll learn my table some other hour before the test tomorrow.

toodles!

I can't do it.

-----edit----

I DID IT! goddamit! I DID IT!! I fucken hate myself for not trusting in me but I DID IT!!! :D

btw if you're wondering what the hell I'm talking about it's my personal statement, my college essay, my torture and and pain for the past two months....I will be editing it every day for the next eight days until I weed out all the stupidity and idiot sounding sentences.

It's so personal that nobody can read it and I can't have a teacher proofread it for the same reason so I have to trust my meager editing skills...which fully live up to their adjective.

ACT and SATs

Posted on Oct 25th, 2008 by Deisy : Respect is key Deisy
Giora_and_deisy_anniversary
So today I took my ACT with Dawn (pretty okay..I'm retaking it though because last time I got a lowly 22..bahh) Anyway..

On the way home we saw a sign labeled "Panaderia La Chapina"  (Chapina btw means Guatemalan girl in Guatemalan slang) and I was like DAWN, LETS GO EAT THERE! I WANT TO SEE!!

It's a breadery ..lol breadery, i love that word. Anyway we went and they not only sold bread but A BUNCH of Guatemalan and Central American snacks and plates! I was sooo happy.

I bought three chuchitos, one pupusa, a bunch of bread *btw they did it Guatemalan style when you ask for 3 Quetzales of this bread and that and so nothing was labeled with a price lol...and there was NO LINE! so we had to like jump in and order quickly before someone else jumped in before us..ahh...

Anyway, I was sooo happy because I saw all the snacks I grew up with and I was so happy because dammit no matter how much you hate where you come from you cannot hate the food lol

I ate my pupusa right away and it was DELICIOUS! I wanted to buy some cucos (different types of drinks put in little plastic bags and frozen so its like a small 'ice cream') and I didn't have enough money! I only had $15 so I bought everything I could with it but it wasn't enough..

I bought some of the pumpkin seed drink though, oh how I miss the pumpkin seed drink...

So my parents I guess are going because they want to check out the place and everything and hey I don't blame them, also my mom wants some pacayas.

After that I stuffed my face and then came home with Dawn after picking up some stuff from her house and I received an email from my SAT account saying that my scores were ready...

tun tun tun....

So I was like sweet lets check it out! And so I told Dawn that I would tell her if they were good and if they were bad I wouldn't...so I opened the page and I coudln't calculate them (I know, forget basic math from time to time) and guess what?!

I GOT A 1680!!!!!!!

I guess that's fairly good from the reaction Dawn gave me, I didn't really care..I just took it to see how I would do, I care more about the ACT....anyway, I apparently got a much better score than a lot of people...very bright people and this is my FIRST TIME taking the SAT because the last time I got horrible cramps and puked in my mom's car in a black plastic bag.. (she brough it specially for that har har)

Now I just sit and wait for
1. My ACT scores
2. My college admission response
3. Life to FINALLY HAPPEN!! woohoo!!

Taking stuff lightly seriously SERIOUSLY helps out, also Yaz with your PMDD so hey! Life is good!

Other than that

Environmental Club today did super well with the curly fries from Jack in the Box! We sold out! we made a profit of $50 so we're happy :)

You will not imagine what happened?

Some girl gave my treasurer a 100 dollar bill thinking it was a 10 and Valerie didn't notice until later, so we waited for her to come back but she never did! I went and turned it in into the bookstore and told them what happened and they were like omg lol who carries around a 100 bill in school?! anyway, I hope she comes and claims her money because 100 dollars is no fun to lose, hell I would cry over 20 during these times of horrible sorrow.

Other than that, I haven't felt like writing on the blog lately, I've just been studying and focusing on applications.

I have an FRQ for AP Environmental Science tomorrow *a writing test* and also another essay for Their Eyes Were Watching God.

The story was amazing, I really recommend the book.

Giora is coming home tomorrow. Yippee<3

My cough is better, thanks to the medicine I should say.

I finally finished my CSS profile and turned it in. Tomorrow I am finally submitting my Common Application to Wellesley... Nerves of steal Deisy, nerves of steal...

I finished my math at school so I'm good.

These are my current grades (from last time I checked which was last week, don't expect my math score to be the same though due to a very bad test score)

Band - (Mr. Nowak has never given me an A so this time he will either give it peacefully or by force...he chooses)
AP E.S. - A (gives me an extra point)
AP Civics - B (counts as an A)
AP Economics - B ""
My Lowly Math - A
AP English - B ""

So basically I have straight A's if you count the B's as A's on the scale...I am doing what I have to do and will achieve whatever I want..I always have :)

The secret works people, don't doubt it.

Deisy C.
